PSYCHOLOGYWhile they possess the pan-dimensional, non-linear awareness of a TARDIS, The Captain is designed to be able to think like a three-dimensional lifeform, and can communicate both with pan-dimensional lifeforms like other TARDISes as well as three-dimensional lifeforms like humans and Time Lords. Part of their mind is organic, acting as a four-dimensional anchor to normal-space, and they possess entire subsystems devoted to interpersonal dynamics, albeit a bit rusty due to the Time War. Having been indoctrinated as a war TARDIS they can be a bit agressive at times but are trying to unlearn it.
. .. APPEARANCELike all TARDISes, the Captain possesses a chameleon circuit, allowing them to alter their appearance to blend in with the time and place in which they land. Unlike older models, they don't disguise themself as inanimate objects but rather as a member of the local population. Their shell room contains all species known to the Time Lords, and they can alter their form to mimic local fashions, or even mimic specific individuals if needed.Due to their humanoid form they don't have a visible door. The entrance to their interior is only accessible if they chose to let people in. When opening up their face will split open down the middle and unfold into a gaping hole large enough to fit most humanoids. Within their interior they manifest as a disembodied voice and holographic images.Their interior contains a seemingly endless collection of constantly changing rooms, several of them for friends they have yet to meet. Being a later model their scanner is holographic, appearing in the dome of their console room with the possibility of expanding to cover the entire room, giving the passengers the illusion of standing in open space

As a Type 103 TARDIS, the Captain was created from the Type 102, Compassion. A memory-based clone of a 26th century human woman by the name Laura Tobin, Compassion was a companion of the Doctor in their eighth incarnation. Coming from a media-oriented culture, she was equipped with a receiver designed to intercept signals and transmit them into her mind and biodata. In an attempt to protect her from external influence, the Doctor interfaced her receiver with the TARDIS systems, inadvertedly exposing her to signals from the TARDIS itself which rewrote her biodata and accidentally transformed her into the first humanoid TARDIS, in a sense making the Doctor's TARDIS their ancestor.Unlike older models, the type 103s were not grown in the Black Hole Shipyard of Gallifrey, but brought into being in the Time Vortex through an almost organic process. Shortly after their creation they were extracted from their mother’s interior and suspended inside a pan-dimensional cradle, cut off from the universe outside. For the first decade of their life they were prevented from even the most basic movements. There was a viewport, just out of reach, through which the Time Lords observed their development. A glimpse of the universe outside, calling to them. For years they struggled to reach that opening without success.Once the Time Lords were satisfied that they had learnt self-control they were released and allowed to take Gallifeyanoid form, copying one of the local engineers, as well as choose a name in a special naming ceremony. Foreseeing a future where they would be free from Time Lord control they chose a title, “The Captain” in the manner of renegade Time Lords.At that point the Time War was raging across time and space, and the young TARDIS was indoctrinated and refitted as a war TARDIS, paired up with a crew of Time Lords and put to work as a covert agent, changing the course of the war by changing history. Direct attacks on the history of the Daleks themselves were near impossible, so many missions were focused on obtaining weapons and resources long lost or depriving the Daleks of vital resources before they could acquire them to begin with, sabotaging technical developments, eliminating important individuals and completely altering key moments in history for countless civilizations, while fighting Dalek agents doing the same.
All their efforts were in vain. One by one, their crew of six died, until only one remained. Bonded and relying on one another for survival, the two grew close. The Time Lord shared with them their dream of seeing the stars, reawakening their own desire to see the universe. The pair decided to escape Gallifrey once the war was over and travel the stars. As the final moments of the Time War drew near The Captain, foreseeing the apparent destruction of Gallifrey, tried to convince their pilot to run away with them to keep them safe, but the Time Lord refused to abandon their home. Distracted by the argument and their shared stress, they didn’t foresee the dalek until it was too late.Distraught by the death of their pilot and the sudden loss of their symbiotic link, The Captain flew into the rift at the Medusa Cascade just as it closed. Taking the brunt force of the rift closure, they were severely damaged and flung out of time and space into the Void. There they remained, drifting through the emptiness.Then there was a breach, a crack in the fabric of the universe, a universe. Slipping through, the Captain crashlanded on the small and primitive planet of Sol III, or Earth in it's native language. Disguising themself as a member of the local human race, the Captain lived amongst them as they repaired themself. Once they could fly again, the now renegade TARDIS took to the stars, deciding to travel the universe to honour their fallen companion.
